Halito! Iām Kayla Turner Meirelles.
My Choctaw heritage greatly informs my views on health. The balance between personal choices and the larger demands and expectations of our communities is hard won and often times our society does not offer us the support we need to navigate these challenges. I believe deeply that good therapy is a process that teaches us how to listen to our bodies, interpret our emotions, and advocate for the changes we need in our lives.
My Approach
I make no assumptions about each relationship, because every relationship is unique in its own way. While this uniqueness can be beautiful, it means we often times are challenged to learn more about our partners and ourselves. Through support and inquisitiveness, I help you arrive at your own conclusions about your self-transformation and the most authentic way for you to be yourself in your relationships.
Simple ideas
Often times our emotions are trying to communicate something to us. Therapy can be a great place to interpret these emotions and decide for ourselves what changes need to be made.
Lasting impact
I see our time in therapy as an opportunity to reflect on values and how they can be integrated into our daily choices, learning how to advocate for ourselves not just in relationships, but in life.
